About Passport Photo Online

Getting a document photo refused is a small problem with expensive consequences: a delayed visa, a second trip to a photo booth, a new appointment. Passport Photo Online exists to make the photo the easy part of an application.

What we do

You take a picture with your phone and choose the document. We crop it to the exact size, place the head where the rules require, replace the background, and check the expression, lighting and framing. Each document has its own specification, taken from the instructions published by the issuing authority.

How we keep the requirements accurate

Photo rules change. When an authority updates its size, background or file limits, we update the specification for that document, and the "Official photo specification" table on each document page shows the values the checker uses.

Free and premium

The digital photo is free. Premium processing adds light and colour correction and a review by a person on our team, for applicants who want an extra check before they submit.

Independence

We are an independent service. We are not part of, endorsed by or affiliated with any government agency, embassy or consulate, and we cannot influence whether an application is approved.
